Furniture for Sale!

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

I’m willing to sell all of these (or a group of these) items together at a discount from the prices I’ve listed. This would be especially convenient (for both of us) if you’re moving into 905 New Gulph Rd (the one across the street from the science center) – and the “1BR with study” apartment in particular – you could essentially get yourself a furnished apartment, and the air-conditioners would already be installed!

Set of couch, matching armchair, end table, coffee table: $70
Recliner (comfy and works fine, but beat up): Free w/ couch and coffee/end tables
Round wooden table with extension leaf: $20
Queen-sized bed w/ frame + box spring (1 y.o. this June): $50
Wooden night stand: $10
Leather Desk Chair (works fine but not in the best shape): $5
Round kitchen table: $10
Wooden bookshelf: $20
Air conditioner with remote: $60
Air conditioner without remote: $30
3 floor lamps: $15
Desk Lamp: $10
Decorative Table Lamp (with four different color shades): $10
Tappan Microwave (11” x 15” inside): $20
Black & Decker 4 slice toaster: $10

20” LCD HDTV (1 y.o. this June): $220
Sony DVD Player (1 y.o. this June): $30

Also, let me know if you’re interested in any cookware, dishware, or cutlery.

Please contact isaacmussomeli@yahoo.com if interested.

Roommate(s)

  1. Hi my name is Courtney and I am also looking for a roommate or two to share an apartment or house with. I will be making the big move from Chicago to Bryn Mawr to start the post-bac program in May. I am a 24 year old female, graduated from Stanford University in 2006 with degrees in American Studies and Human Biology, and have been working in business (currently finance) for the past two years in Chicago. I am a non-smoker, clean (but not obsessively so), pretty laid-back, like to stay active, and always up for exploring new things! If you are also looking for a roommate, please email me at cpenn@stanfordalumni.org.

  1. Hello my name is Sage Taylor Green and I’m looking for a couple of roommates to share a house/apartment with (gender does not matter).
I am a 22 year old female, currently living in Southern NJ (Long Beach Island) and am very excited to be starting Bryn Mawr’s post-bac program in May. I graduated from The George Washington University in Washington DC majoring in criminal justice with a psychology minor.
I’m a non-smoker, very clean, mother of a 7 month old Min Pin Chihuahua mix named Colby, who will also be making the move to Bryn Mawr. Colby is very energetic while I’m more laid back, but we are both looking forward to meeting and living with new people! If interested please e-mail me at sageg0430@gmail.com.

Summer sublet (June-mid August, $690/month with utilities)

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Dear postbac program,

In the past, I have sublet my apartment in the summer to a wonderful
postbac student. Would you be willing to send my ad out to your current
students and provide this information to those students coming in during
the summer session? The text follows below.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,
Johanna Best

I am hoping to sublet my studio apartment in Narberth for the summer. My
2nd floor apartment is small, pleasant, and furnished. I live in a quiet
building only one block from the R5 station, close to both Montgomery Ave.
and Lancaster Ave.

I am looking for a quiet, considerate, non-smoker, who would be interested
in subletting between the beginning of June and mid-August (or a
significant part of that time).

I will be asking $690/month (less than my full rent). This includes heat,
water, and internet access. The tenant would be responsible for paying
for electricity use, as well as watering my plants and occasionally
forwarding mail.

Please send me an email to jbest01@brynmawr.edu if you are interested or
have further questions.

Looking for a postbac roommate? Look in this category to see who has posted and reply to them, or post information about yourself and how people can get in touch with you. Because of the administration of this site, please post your information under the Comments section (Click on where it says “Comments” or “No Comments” to post something).  Be sure to read what other people have written as well and respond to them accordingly.

Example:

Hi! My name is Linus Pauling. I’m 107 years old and originally from Lake Oswego, Oregon (pronounced “ore-gIN” not “or-e-gON”). I graduated in 1922 from Oregon Agricultural College (now known as Oregon State…go Beavers!) with a degree in chemical engineering. I then went to Caltech to get my PhD.

Here’s a little bit more about me:

I’m a non-smoker and more of a morning person. I’m neat but not compulsive. I’d like to live with at least one other person, male or female. I’m pretty laid back, and good about doing dishes. Email me at carbonrules@chemistry.com.
